The Illinois Finance Authority is pleased to share that on September 28, Members of our Climate Bank Team attended a Ribbon Cutting in Springfield for the installation of the City’s final Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Port funded through the federal Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Grant Program. The City of Springfield is one of the first communities to complete their project, expanding access to Level 2 and DC fast charging options.
These sites support the statewide clean transportation goal of having one million electric vehicles on the road by 2030. In partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), IFA is deploying close to 50 DCFC and 400 Level 2 charging ports across the State, to achieve that goal.
