The Illinois Climate Bank is pleased to release a new Notice of Funding Opportunity under its Small Utility Clean Energy Planning (SUCEP) Grants program, funded through U.S. EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG).
SUCEP grants will support municipal and cooperative electric utilities in transitioning to cleaner energy sources through long-term planning and implementation efforts. The program will provide financial assistance for technical assessments, procurement strategies, and implementation planning to help utilities secure renewable power purchase agreements (PPAs) and integrate clean energy generation into their portfolios. Eligible applications must align with the goals of the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) and the newly released Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act (CRGA). Awardees may use SUCEP funds for integrated resource planning (IRP) activities if such activities directly support CEJA-aligned scenarios.

Available Funding: $1.8 million
Award Range: Up to $200,000 per award
